We have been selling bedbug mattress covers for many years, and I have some hints I would like to add based on our years of experience. The bed must be completely broken down and all surfaces cleaned. Pay special attention to the areas where the bed rails connect to the headboard and footboard. Also, in addition to cleaning and treating around the baseboards, be sure to caulk any cracks between the walls and the baseboard. These are favorite hiding places. Make sure that the cover you put on the mattress is designed to keep the bugs from feeding through the material. Not all are made that way. If you are in an apartment or condo, do not be ashamed to tell your neighbors you had an infestation. They can take proactive measures and in the long run will thank you. Bed bugs are not a sign of poor hygiene. You have some great hints.
